..and the fire with all the strength it hath...

Haloween was uneventful. I was the only one who participated-- all the rest were gloomy. I put on face-paint, and made myself a rushed costume to be the Space Faerie, and scared quite a few little kids-- because Soul got out a big piece of black fabric, and decided to be Sloth.
The next day, I slept in, and found the house empty. There was a note left beside my breakfeast-- in Jen's messy writing.

Akira,
we're at a funeral, we'll be back around 9:00 PM. Do the groceries for me again-- it was Soul's turn, but, as usual, he forgot. >.<

The word 'funeral' was crossed out somewhat. No doubt that aisha's. I phoned up B.S. , that is, my cousin Brilliant Shadow.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Biz."
"What's new?"
"Nothing's new. Except the family's gone to a funeral..... would you tell me whose?"
I could see, in my mind, her face turn angry. "None of your concern."
She hung up.
I walked upstairs to the 'computer room' and turned on the monitor of one of them. There was an unfinished email on the screen. I won't reproduce it, however, suffice it to say, it told me all that I needed to know. I stepped out into the rain, shivering, and got onto the bus.
927 Rainbow Street.. what a name! There were woods down the road, and I walked into them, following the directions given.
I arrived at a small shack. Great.
There was a panel inset into the wood-- of some metal like substance. With some numbered keys. A code, right. I pushed in a wild gues.
1085702865 . Nope.
0707093555. Nope
1097509375. Yes! I had cracked the code!
And before me, were smoking ruins, flames rising from them. I realised what this meant, as another 'flashback' hit me.
This was Maqui Central.
