You might find, you get what you need

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you might find
You get what you need
[Rolling Stones]

What you want versus what you need. Lately I’ve been wondering if what you think you want isn’t actually what you need. And if what you need can just kind of blindside you into submission. It’s also curious to ponder if perhaps no one person can be your all-inclusive package. I mean, otherwise, why would we still need girlfriends, coworkers, confidantes or family? Each person engages a particular part of your life - challenges your ideas, exposes you to new things, forces you to relax, makes you laugh, let’s you be in charge, takes charge, loves (is loved by) your other friends & family, gets along best whenyou're one-on-one, lets you live vicariously through them, encourages you to pursue your dreams, makes you think, brings you flowers, makes you sweat, harbors your secrets, inspires you to do good, provokes you to be bad.
