ITV needs citizen correspondents. People who will record 30 secondish clips of their opinion via a phone or webcam and upload it to their site so it can put them on the TV news.
I have been doing it for weeks and it is really really fun.
The trouble is, there is a bit of a dearth of eloquent and articulate people. You lot all have endless opinion on your blogs, why not share it with ITV?
The better the quality of opinion offered, the more debate and discussion. It's important - TV news should be a discussion, not a monologue.
I think this is a chance to be part of something really important.
ITV phoned me today and are even willing to supply web cams to people who are really keen but don't have them.
If you want to get involved, email uploaded@itv.com and tell them you want to subscribe. If you could mention my name (buttering them up with my usefulness - may apply for a job one day) that would be great.
Liz Bartram is the online producer involved - you can email her at LIZ.BARTRAM@ITN.CO.UK or ring her on 0207 430 4707 if you need to discuss how to upload or want to ask for a webcam (I think you'll have to be pretty keen to bag the freebie).
Get involved! It is satisfying and important.
