Strictly about Romans 14:
While Roman 14 states we are free as our minds let us be, it also says that we shouldn't abuse our freedom when that freedom hurts others.
That is, using this food freedom to bring a roast pig to a bar-mitzvah is going to offend some people. If you then quote Christ as the reason you can ignore the tradition, this tends to alienate those offended to the Gospel of Christ due to their own issues. In almost every case, this is going to be wall building instead of bridge building activity. And (building walls instead of bridges) is not following Christ's commandment to take the Gospel to everyone.
