Are You My Friend

Music: Phish - My Friend My Friend

Fact: John McCain, in an interview with a Spanish-language radio station, refused to commit to a meeting with the Spanish Prime Minister, saying only that he "would be willing to meet with those leaders who are our friends and want to work with us in a cooperative fashion".

Does anyone else think the President of the United States is demonstrating good foriegn policy by choosing to only meet with friends? Isn't there something to be said for talking with the enemy?

I didn't like a bit of Ronald Reagan's domestic policy, BUT he did more for the US international standing through his discussions with Russia than any president for 50+ years before him. The key to his success was getting on their good side by SMILING and searching for common ground. I'm not saying we should concede to the enemy ever, but to get the attitude 'you're wrong so i can never ever talk to you again' is so first grade its sickening to hear that kind of thing in Washington at all, much less from the mouth of a candidate (as a POSITIVE to elect him.)
