You reminded yourself of an episode of the Twilight Zone. You were there. Your sky was pouring down rain and you were wet. You needed shelter. You were lost in your woods. You saw a large house from a distance and you felt comfort. You walked towards the house. It was a monestary. You knocked on the door. No one answered. You begged and called out for help. You heard a voice. It wasn't friendly. They wanted you to leave. You pleaded to be let in. The rain, the shadows, the darkness that spread across the night, no man should be left alone, no man should be denied inside the house of God. The door opened and you walked in. You were told that your presence is quarrelsome. You denied being a burden. You were not believed. You were free to wander the deep hallways, the neverending paths. You found a room. Inside was a man. A frail, weak man. He was trapped. He tells you he is kidnapped. You believed him. You found the cleric that let you in. You asked why this man was trapped inside the small room. They took him the only way they knew how, under the cover of darkness. You were told that this man was not to be believed, that he would only bring evil. You were told to never speak with him again. You continued to wander the dark corridors. You were tired. You wanted to find a place to sleep. You found the man again. You decided to speak.
"How can one be so frail and weak yet possess great evil?" he asked.
You questioned everything. You were scared. He told you that they were all out to get you. They will trap you just the same way he was trapped. You were now very scared. You panicked. You unlocked the door from the outside. You foolishly set him free. Right before your eyes you witnessed the unthinkable.
"I have seen false idols, painful lies and lived unspeakable truths, but never thought I was capable of such regrettable deeds." you said.
You watched the man as he became a demon. You felt very cold. The demon disappears into the night. You begin to cry. The cleric finds you. He tells you that you have released Satan to roam free in this world. He was captured. You were tricked. You asked the cleric a question.
"Who was the real demon here, the man set free or the man that turned him loose?"
The cleric did not respond. You already knew that answer.
beauty is death
a truth is many lies
memory is pain
you were never a gift
