updates from 2017
Hi everyone! Just wanted to check in and say hello. ::waves::
Even just a week away (okay, as away as I can actually manage, haha) from LJ has been a tremendous help and I feel a bit refreshed already. Part of me is sad to be missing out on all these fun memes and challenges everyone is posting for the New Year but mostly I feel relief to sit back and not stress.
I worked for New Year's Eve and it was fine. I wore some fancy makeup and painted my nails all glittery to feel festive. We close at 10pm but by the time people were done and leaving it made more sense to ring in the New Year with co-workers rather than on the train ride home. Forrest came right before closing so we got to be together<3
It’s only a few days in and I don’t want to “jinx” it (goodness, I hate that I do somehow believe in that) but so far, so good. I actually felt most of my stress and anxious clouds melt away after a new moon ritual I did late in December (more details in another post, another day perhaps?).
I’ve just been taking it one day at a time but already this year seems exciting. Forrest and I are going to Iceland in March for our belated honeymoon (definitely will make a separate post about this soon) and we even have a mini trip to Philly this month to visit my best friend and her husband. I like the idea of going on a mini trip once a month since Forrest and I tend to spend our one day off a week together holed up inside (after we do laundry and groceries). I think getting out more will be good for me.
A lot of my fest commitments are done and that is a huge relief. I’ve finished up my January and February submissions over at Daily Deviant (just awaiting posting), only have three more chapters before my Credence/Graves coffeeshop AU is complete, and just need to finish up a gift fic for next month. Now I can put my full attention on hp_kinkfest which I have been excited about for months. It’s one of my favorite fests and I already have giant list of all the prompts I want to write… just need to narrow it down. Last year I was able to submit three stories but I think I better just focus on one this year. Is it too early to search for a beta? ::pleading eyes:: haha
How has the New Year been treating you guys? I am grateful, as always, for everyone’s understanding and patience with me and my… lengthy personal posts and occasional self deprecation. You all are truly wonderful<3
