Happy Birthday Draco!
Today marks the 36th birthday of my darling Draco Malfoy. He is by far my favourite Harry Potter and generally my favourite fictional character of all time. Everything about his personality, his upbringing, his struggles, his redemption, his fanon presence just melts my heart. I do feel JK Rowling didn't always do his character justice but that is why fandom exists! I truly believe an author may create a world and vast characters but once they are written to page they no longer belong completely to the author but to the world at whole, to explore deeper truths about that person/world. Sigh, anyway, I could wax poetics about Draco Malfoy for ages, but let's make this post more visual!
I can't even being to tell you how much I have dressed as Draco over the years, for Halloween, conventions or basically any excuse. Here are a few random photos (sadly I couldn't find as many as I know I have) of me dressing as my true love:
For starters, this silly shirt I made and wore to Otakon 2005. I actually sold some of these via lj back in the day! haha XD
Freshman year of college... ten years ago! Hah! I believe this was for the midnight showing of POA?
Halloween 2007? Hah, my wig was coming off there~
I overuse this wig, it's true. But this was for Harry Potter trivia a couple of years ago.
