Mini Vacation

Hiya everyone!! I'm back from a 3 day impromptu vacation I took to Philly PA with my fiance Forrest. I meant to make a post before I left to warn I would be mia for a few days (as if I haven't already been slacking with the comments, yikes!) but somehow that got lost somewhere.

Anyway, hope everyone has been well! Forrest and I usually try to go somewhere once a year (usually it's either California to visit my Aunt or Arizona to visit his family) but this year we decided to skip it because we are getting married. However, when a random switch at work had me with three days off in a row (and Forrest currently unemployed) I decided we should plan a short little trip.

Philly is just a two hour drive away from NYC (where we live) and some of our favorite vegan restaurants are there so we booked an airbnb and headed on over. It was a nice little trip, even though it rained the entire time, and I did my best to remember to take a few pictures.

We went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art which was (dare I say) maybe better than NYC's The Met? This was the view from the top of the "Rocky Stairs"

Really beautiful stained glass in the Medieval Art Exhibit

Lovely Asian Art Exhibit. I just loved this entire area~

Really intricate snuff bottles/vials

This friendly cat hung out at one of the cafe's we frequented

Philly has some of the BEST vegan food! This was an heirloom beet salad from Charlie Was A Sinner this vegan cocktail bar with incredible small plates.

This tasty spicy grilled tofu dish was from Vedge the best restaurant I have ever eaten at, hands down.

And their dessert is to die for!! This was their NOLA mud pie with bbq pecans and caramelized bananas~

And this Sticky Toffee Pudding with smoked hazelnuts and cedar ice cream (it tasted like a campfire in the best way) won the show hands down!

Well, those were the highlights! Now it is back to the grind of the city and the love of fandom. I've got two, shoot, four more fests submissions to complete and plenty more stories to read~
