Ah, I remember this novel! I think there was also a quote in there about how a book is like the author's soul, something that survives after death and that can linger and still touch others as it continues on. I know I butchered it but I remember that particular bit made me extremely happy.

I just went looking for it but didn't see it. But I remember something like that! There were lots of lines in there that made me happy, just because they were so true of reading and stories in general.

That's an incredible quote, and so true. Being deliberately misleading is certainly a skill that an author could use with much finesse.

Also, the echoes from the last story read can be very catching! I've had a couple stories dig into my head so deeply that they influenced the way I looked at other stories for months. My goodness, that skill... That's a powerful thing, right there. :)

It really is a powerful thing! What stories were they? (If you feel like sharing that.)

I love that second one. It's so true and such lovely imagery.

(Yay for reading for fun!)

It really is.

Heh--now that I'm reading regularly again, I'm starting to get that weird antsy feeling when I get near the end of a book and don't have another one to start.

Thank you so much! *HUGS* As soon as I saw a comment from you in my inbox, I got all excited because I knew what it was going to be. (OK, that sounds like I don't welcome comments from you at any time, but of course I do, and happily!)
