My hubby is very versatile in his clothing choices. He can be in jeans and a tee one day, sweat pants (or cotton shorts) and tee another day, khaki's and a buttoned shirt, shirt & tie with slacks (for work), suit and tie for church or work. He also is really into rugged mountain clothes (REI type of stuff). His favorite store of all time is Men's Warehouse. I know they're mainly known for their suits and things but the stores actually care some nice casual tops as well.
Other than those two stores (REI and Men's Warehouse), he's pretty flexible about where he shops for clothing. Macy's, Jc Penny's, Sears, Gottchalks, Target (for tees etc).
I think what applies for women should apply to men too. Often times we think we don't like a style...but then we get the right person to put together an outfit for us and we end up liking it. Some day he should try going to a department store (or other) and just asking a sales person to help him put together a new style. Be open to ideas and trying things on. He may find things that he thought he didn't like, are things he'd be okay with wearing.
