I got married in Jamaica, so my honeymoon WAS the cost of my wedding. lol

I *wish* someone I know would do a destination wedding. Every one of our guests had an awesome time, and we have some AWESOME pictures.

I didn't even want to invite the parents. lol My dad threw a fit because he didn't want to pay to go, I told him that if he didn't want to, not to go. He ended up going and loving it, but including the relatives and how "offended" everyone in my family can get, was a huge hassle.

we are both super close to our parents-- there is no way we'd want to get married without them there. So they said no DW, we didnt do it.

BUT we can always renew our vows on a beach....

Indeed. I'm so glad that we went with it in the end, though. My husband went for a swim in the ocean about an hour and a half before we got married, lol.

Oooh, where in Jamaica?

We went to a destination wedding in Cancun last month. It was soooo beautiful.

Mine was in Whitehouse, this new development in the south. The best part was that the resort argued with me so much that one of my friends that came was a lawyer, so I threatened them with him. They gave us sooooooooooooo much free stuff and VIP treatment that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. They gave us a free reception, which was $75 a plate normally.

I had a destination wedding in Clearwater Beach, FL. We were planning on getting married in Jamaica, but my husband's family couldn't afford to travel to Jamaica, so we changed our plans 9 months into our wedding planning just for them. I'm still a little bitter...haha. But, Florida turned out to be an awesome location for our wedding (weather was perfect!), and everyone had a wonderful time and thanked us for getting married in such a fun location. :)

We still got to go to Jamaica...for our honeymoon.

My husband's family is from FL, so I didn't want mine flipping out about how it was "unfair". lol
