Good evening, America.

Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I finally have a free minute to comment...

You and I have talked extensively about this issue, so you already know how I feel about it and how disturbed I am by it. Just the idea that everything is up to the "interpretation" of the president (I guess we will shortly be seeing who really controls the puppet strings of the president) and that people, whether they know information or not, can be tortured. It really makes me sick to my stomach... To have civil liberties ripped from us in a country the proclaims freedom, equality and justice. Our country seems to be going down the shit-hole, and you have to wonder... how the hell did this thing pass in the first place? Like you and I both mentioned before, how long has this been planned... using fear to take away freedoms. An Orwell novel coming true?

I feel angry and scared, but its more than that. We sit around and talk about how upset we are that this Act passed, but us just talking about it isn't going to change anything. Like the others that commented, I don't see people donning masks and taking to the streets anytime soon. We complain so much about where our country is going, how fucked we are, and how most everyone in power is corrupt (which I agree with)... but then I guess the question that stands before us is, what, as the newest generation of adults, are we going to do to make this country better? If everyone becomes apathetic and thinks it really is too late, then we really are screwed.
