What Made Me Happy in 2012?

This year was a great year for our family.  Our relationships with one another soared, we gained new friendships, and we tried new things.  Overall our year was full of great moments and lots of love.   I made this video to document all that happened in 2012 that was worth being grateful for.

But there is more....

Our trip to the midwest.  From Detroit to Milwaukee we saw so many amazing parts of the midwest, drank great beer, visited breweries, and ate incredible food.  We visited towns I never thought I would see like Traverse City, MI and Munster, IN, we drank beers with locals, and drove more countless miles across four states.  It was a fantastic trip and it will be hard to top it.

Zombie Dust became a favorite beer.  I first tried it at Hunahpu Day and have been hooked since.  We bought a case while we were at Three Floyd's in October but that dwindled fast.  I wish I could have it all the time but I wouldn't appreciate it as much if I could.

Dinners with family & friends.  Over the last year Chris & I became really close to my brother.  I have always been close to my brother but this year something changed.  The beginning to middle part of the year was spent sharing meals and beers with my brother and his wife as well as his brother-in-law and his girlfriend.  Unfortunately now that my brother is going through a divorce we do not see his wife or her family as often but I am still grateful for the time we had and what we will have in the future.

McClure's pickles in my Bloody Mary's.  After being introduced to McClure's while we were in Detroit I have craved them daily and offered them to any friend who stops by our house.  They are spicy and addictive... Thank you Fab.com for offering them up on deals every so often.  And thank you Jessi for keeping me aware of when they do.

For a short amount of time Draw Something made me very happy... But I got bored fast and moved on... but I miss it... I had some pretty wicked skills, no?

Big sister Jade.  She is loving, caring, helpful, and admired by her brother and sister.  She is such a good big sister.

I have mastered my guac recipe.  I am proud of it.. Its so damn good..

We threw a successful crawfish boil in May.  The crawfish were fresh, our friends had a blast, and I hope to do it again in 2013.

Biking.  Since Chris healed from his accident a year ago we have biked a lot.  Yesterday we took the girls on a four mile ride to the park.  Biking was such a big part of our 2012 year that I know it will be even more important in 2013.

Jade Ana.  She grew up so much this year.  She had her first crush, she developed great friendships, and became very independent.  In 2013 she will celebrate her 10th birthday.  She hopes to see snow in 2013.

Brooklyn Ava.  My girly girl gave up on pink & princesses and fell in love with black, biking, and video games.  She is still strong willed and difficult at times but still has strongest personality of all three kids.

Cameron.  His happy face, his silly comments, his snuggling... Everything.  He turns three years old this weekend and is so excited about a day celebrating him.  He is the sweetest little boy and I love him so much.

Chris.  Without being too sappy I just want to say that I really love this man.  Through everything he is there for me and I am there for him.  I love him, I love his family, and I love the way we have combined our lives in a way that seems so indestructible.  He has been my friend for sixteen years; half of my life.  I couldn't imagine a better partner or friend.

2012, new years, hello blog, happy
