I've been real busy...

Apr 02, 2004 00:13

The following message was left on my voice mail:

"Bryan, It's Candice. I changed my mind. I'd really like to have my scarf back. I could come get it, or if you really wouldn't mind driving here, tomorrow would be great for me. Give me a call."

Yeah, she wants it.

Just for kicks )

how do you like your eggs in the morning? pervpersuasion April 2 2004, 00:19:32 UTC
hmm well then...i'll be sure to wear something lacy and barely there underneath when i drag you onto the subway....or the bathroom, heh. ;-)

so...when i finally do try it...what would you recommend to a newbie like me? i'm a picky eater but, shit, since i'll be eating raw fish...i might as well not exclude anything and just kinda go all out in a tiny sense.

i used to try and be noble...to be the truly good girl, but it was constant self-censorship and i just got tired of having to play a role purely for the pleasure of someone else. the englishman who teaches my shakespeare class pointed out a wonderous quote from "the taming of the shrew" today which made so much sense to me. i do believe it is just going to have to be my new little motto..or something of the like.

> No profit grows where is no pleasure ta'en.
In brief, sir, study what you most affect.

i love shakespeare...even with all the pretention put upon his works by scholars. i do believe him to have been a "debaucheriffic" man...an actor, a writer and a bit of a sociologist too...a preoccupiation with sex, deceit, love, tragedy, innuendo, saying more with one word than one could in one thousand and the general observations of a voyeur.

i'd have done him. =)

Salmon and Tuna are the easiest fish to handle. They don't have an overly complex or acquired taste. Cali rolls are pretty basic. I, myself like spicy tuna rolls and I also think eel has a pretty interesting taste.

Shakespeare is a personal hero of mine. I think you described him perfectly. I would have probably done him too.

we could have done him together!

i agree. i wish you were here to take the class with me and enjoy the merryment all around with the professor (the hr and 20 mins go by all too fast with the constant amusement...you've got to love a teacher willing to bear it all and even curse in class or address "the naughty bits", as he puts it...those brits are funny sometimes)...though i know little of you i think you'd enjoy him...he's a sarcastic, cynical man...but he's a romantic at heart. dare i say you and he have more than just two of those three in common? =)

That could be a fair assumption. :)

p.s. what is the texture of eel like? i find that part of the enjoyment of experimentation with foods are not only taste and color but texture as well.

it'd be nice to be hedonistically rich someday and just go to a culinary school for the pure enjoyment of learning how to cook the "finer" things.

Eel is quite unique. The texture is a touch rubbery, but not really like octopus. It's also kind of fibrous. It's the skin that makes it rubbery.

I love to cook. I'm pretty good at making sushi too.

the word eel looks so very strange when it is at the beginning of a properly written sentence.... Eel. it almost looks misspelled for some reason. the "e" resting in a valley between the "E" and "l". hmm.

it sounds chewy. i may have to try it, if not only to simply satisfy my curiosity at its dynamic.

thinking of an eel makes me think of an aquarium. which makes me desirous of touching the skin of not only an eel but so many of the other "off limits" animals. i went to the zoo a while back with a friend...hadn't been to one in over a decade...was kind of fun actually...it made me feel innocent and carefree again...well really for only a couple of hours...but eh...definitely worth the measly $8 in my eyes.

i love to cook as well. if i had people over, strike that...if i had an apartment i'd want people to come over to...i'd cook more often. i enjoy kitchen gadgets...don't own many...but they're a fun window shopping item. =)

so what's your specialty, mr. big shot? =P

I was thinking the same thing about with word "eel" when I put it at the beginning of that sentence. It looked funny to me too.

You should see our kitchen. It's pretty high tech. My roommate likes to cook even more than I do, and he is addicted to kitchen appliances.

My specialty is either Hot and Sour Soup or this spicy shrimp dish that I make. To be honest, I get the most requests for salads than anything. People seem to think that it doesn't take much to make a good salad, but I put a lot of effort in it. Mine are so good, no dressing is required. The secret is in the hardboiled egg.

dude...are you kidding me...salads are the best...and honestly, one of the most fun things to make in my opinion. so many things to do with the chopping, slicing and dicing. i rarely use dressing...mainly cause of that picky eater syndrome i have...but i think that it tastes better without even those dressings i like (and even then people freak out when they see that i use less than a teaspoon on it all...sometimes i find the look on their face the most enjoyable part of it all).

i should see your kitchen...*wink, wink*...you should take a picture of you cooking in it and send it to me =)

kitchen appliances...i know the feeling there...one day i will be a child again grabbing things off of the shelves and putting them into the cart without looking at the prices. so eager.
