Leon and Claire's Team Thread

((This thread will be used for Leon and Claire's group, and their actions. I'm gonna ask for everyone's help in working the story out. I'm not a GameMaster here, so feel free to engage Umbrella operatives, sneak around, and the like. I will interject when I feel it's time for a particular plot point to occur. It would help if you include your ( Read more... )

Leon was quiet as he prepared for the raid. He still couldn't believe he was about to go through all of this to save Salazar, and worst of all, he was dragging Claire along with him.

He pushed those thoughts out of his head as he got ready. Krauser may be a traitorous bastard now, but he had taught Leon how to put a solid enough lid on his emotions. It was always a very fine line for him to walk, going in to the darker places into his mind and taking enough from there to give him the will to do what needed to be done, but not enough to drive him insane.

This was intended to be a stealth mission, so he packed light for that purpose. Two 9mm's, each with silencers attached were holstered on his thighs, along with several clips of spare ammo. His knife was secured in his impact sheath, secured on the left side of his chest. He also had several grenades, mostly flash and EMP grenades, and a few small explosive charges. He packed a .45 and an assault rifle with him, just in case things did go to hell, but he'd much rather avoid that.

He almost felt naked without a shotgun.

In his various pockets, he packed a few odds and ends. A flashlight, some electronic lockpicks, some herbs and first aid sprays, more ammo, a spare PINpoint, a grappling hook and wire, and other small items that might come in handy.

He made sure his tactical vest was secure, and took a few steps to make sure that his items didn't make any noise when he moved. With that done, he ran over the plans in his head. Getting in wouldn't be a problem, thanks to Eiko. Nor would circumventing the electronic security. It was the human security and lab personnel that posed the biggest problem.

He knew Claire wouldn't kill them unless she absolutely had to. With this being a stealth mission, quieting someone quickly was a priority, and he'd have to do it one way... or another. If it came down to it, he knew he would have to do it, even if only to keep Claire from doing so. He could count on her for anything, even kill to protect him, but her hands were already stained with enough blood.

The rest of the plan was fairly simple. Find Salazar, find Chris, 'port them out, send in explosives, level building.

Sounded so easy, didn't it?

When Leon looks up, Claire is leaning on the doorjamb, watching him prepare.

"Dancing, huh?" she says softly.

Leon didn't look up for a while as he prepared, but he was fully aware she was there.

"There's still some time left. I just might ditch this all of this and go." He gave her a wry grin.

"No, you wouldn't."

She was already geared up, but the look on her face--sort of wistful--made all the weaponry oddly out of place, like a bad Halloween costume.

For a moment, Claire thought of how nice it'd be to be someone who didn't have to deal with this kind of thing. Then she put that thought away: she was who she was.

She opened her mouth to say something, and then her phone rang.

He could only smirk a little. She was right about that. He was about to respond when her phone rang, and he continued to do a final check to make sure everything was ok while Claire talked to... Jill, apparently.

"Is Jill ok?" The recon report could wait. As much as he hated risking his neck for Salazar, the fact that he was about to put on the line the lives of several very good people was slowly eating at him.

If everyone didn't come out of this alive and well...

Jill is not only okay, at least to the naked eye, but now standing in Leon's living room.

And Jill was ok, and in his living room now, looking no worse for wear, much to Leon's relief. He acknowledged her with a nod as he approached her. "Hey, glad you're alright."

Now that that little touching moment was over, down to business. "What did you find out?"

She'd arrived no more than a moment later, her cellphone still open. Jill took Leon's acknowledgement to her well-being with a simple nod, and went straight to the point of her arrival.

Flipping the phone shut, gloved hands went directly to the fannypack upon her darkly-clad self. She emerged with a computer disk, and waved it once in the air.

"The building's a front for Umbrella. 'Globochem' upstairs, sadistic laboratories downstairs." Jill offered the disk to Leon, an expression of contemplation on her features.

"There's your maps for two of the Sub-Levels. There are three in total, but I wasn't able to get any guides for the third."

"Damn..." That'll put a slight cramp in his plans. If the place was a cover, then odds are that some of the employees upstairs didn't even know they were working for Umbrella. If Custo and co just run in guns blazing... Shit

Leon took the disk and loaded it into his laptop, pulling both maps on screen. He flipped open his phone and fixing his headset, he called Eiko. "Eiko, it's Leon, you read me? I'm forwarding you the data Jill picked up."

Just a few clicks of the mouse and Eiko would recieve the maps in a matter of seconds. Leon looked over his copy of the maps, studying the second level. It was largely a system of holding cells, with a few other rooms around it.

"Alright, they're probably expecting us to go for Chris first. We won't. Eiko, port us in on the oppside of the second sublevel. If you can put us inside one of the staircases, that'll be perfect.

"We'll go down, to the third level, get Salazar, sweep back and get Chris, then get the hell out of there."

Yeah, real easy...

Claire nodded. "I think we should stay together, too... Jill, are you coming back in with us?"

"I'm not at all prepared." Jill replied, patting the tranquilizer pistol on her side.

"Tranq gun and a combat knife. I believe I lost my 9mm in one of the ventilation shafts."

Leon nodded. "No problem. Just grab what you can from Eiko's armory, and hold position with Derek outside. If things goto hell in hurry, we'll need you to evacuate the 'Globochem' people, and make sure that none of Wesker's little creations get loose onto the streets."

Brow lift. "All would be fine if only I knew who this 'Eiko' is."

"Eiko's a friend of ours. She's an inventor-type... she made my PINpoint, and some of the stuff I'm using during the raid. I have access to her armory." Claire points at the headset. "She's also doing the operator thing."

Why Claire is going into the building while Jill stays outside is beyond Claire, but she doesn't say anything.

"She's a super genius and something of a mad scientist...in a good way," Derek offers as he makes his way over. He nods to Leon and Jill.

"Good to meet you guys."

Jill nodded to Derek at about the same time she turned to Claire. She might have thought the same if her mind hadn't been so preoccupied with other things.

"Well, if you have access to her armory...I'd be more than happy to pick up a few things."
