Snake-Eye's and Jill Valentine's Recon (Locked to Snake-Eyes and Jill)

Dec 11, 2005 19:33

*From his vantage point in a nearby oak tree on the grounds of the GloboChem Facility, Snake Eyes has begun his reconnaisance of the area. The building itself was 5 stories tall, set in the commercial district of MiD-Town Los Angeles. It's a very modern architecture of glass and steel, surrounded by a small private park-like area. There are alot ( Read more... )

Mission Objectives: Gather information pertaining to this building’s layout, and the on goings of Albert Wesker. If possible, locate Chris Redfield and Ramon Salazar.

Piece of pie, right?

Oh, contraire.

She didn’t know what the Hell she’d gotten herself into by taking on this task-- this wasn’t like window-shopping on Locust Street, for God’s sake --but she had known that time was of the essence… And that she was about the best damn infiltrator that the S.T.A.R.S. could ever ask for.

For what appeared to be nothing less than an eternity of crawling through ventilation shafts, neutralizing the threats of certain operatives, and dodging the lenses of a ridiculous amount of cameras, Jill Valentine had stood sturdily within the more classified regions of this building. The environment, nonetheless annoying to her self, was more than a little informative; she’d plucked a map straight from the pocket of a researcher short of five minutes passed. 20 minutes ago, conversely, Valentine received a bit that silently picked at her.

It didn’t come as a bad surprise that another intruder had recently been here, but it was sort of an abrupt signal to hurry it up…and had done enough to let the effects of paranoia settle in. There might have been a small part of her to wonder how the other had gotten into such a high-level security building, but Valentine had dismissed that train of contemplation rather quickly. It didn’t matter. What did matter, however, was the very real possibility of confronting Mr./Mrs. Mystery in the near future.

As her earlier conversation with Claire would prove, Jill was right about the whole "underground" assumption. In Sub Level 1 was where all the dirty work had been concentrated upon, and in one of the west compartments, by peaking through a small window she'd discovered on her left, she'd perceived the ragged body of Ramon Salazar. After discovering the entrance was sturdily locked, and following a few moments of watching his stunted figure slowly move about, Valentine had to leave-- she had heard footsteps.

The image of his misfortune still beared heavily upon her mentality, though.

There was no sign of Chris yet, and that sort of scared her...Him being the main objective and all. However, according to the map the renegade had within her possession, she had a vague idea of where he could have been: there was a location somewhere nearby with a variety of cell-like features. Jill expected it to be more heavily guarded than ever.

It was hard to do, but she avoided it for now. Her supply of tranquilizers had been significantly lowered, and she liked the idea of living long enough to help with this catastrophe.

*As Jill sneaks through an office, she passes a computer terminal. The desktop displays the Umbrella logo, and a message is flashing on-screen. No one is in the office at the moment. The message reads as follows.*

>>>>WARNINGWARNINGWARNING
>>>UNAUTHORIZEDACCESSDETECTED
>>>INTRUSIONCOUNTERMEASURESONLINE

---COMPUTERSUBSYSTEM6

*A pair of guards pass through the office carrying rifles, and Jill presses her frame flat behind a filing cabinet. They walk past her oblivious, and she catches a snippet of conversation on their way through.*

"...-ey moved that Redfield bastard to Cell Block 15. Krauser's in there wi-"

*They then pass through the door leading out.*

After taking recognition of how scarce the hiding spaces were, there might have been a few moments were Jill panicked. She’d gone with pure instinct when the two armed security officials entered the office, and as Good fortune would have it, they hadn’t even found a trace of her…but the duo had left behind a segment of valuable information.

Chris was being held within Cell Block 15, guarded and no doubt being tortured by Jack Krauser himself.

God, she hated Umbrella.

After a minute of complete silence-or, better yet, after regaining her composure --Jill slid her agile frame from what little concealment the file cabinet had to offer. The woman then focused her attention on the computer terminal nearby; darkly gloved hands began to pick at the zipper of her fanny pack…nestled within it was a device that would give great support to her very little knowledge of hacking.

The contraption was no larger than a hand-held radio, but had an extension that much resembled a floppy disk. Evidently, the whole concept was to insert one end into a drive within the computer…and let it work it’s magic. However, something prevented Valentine from performing this task.

If one were to pull the coverage from her face, one would be able to see the strong frown she contained.

...intrusion countermeasures? What was that supposed to mean? Would an alarm go off if she dared insert her tool? Would it even work?

Taking inward a deep breath, she slid it home...and waited for mission failure.

*The disk seems to have worked it's mojo. For now. It's asking for a command prompt.*

Relief flooded over her, and when it requested a command, she was more than happy to comply.

Her eyes strongly concentrated upon the computer's illuminated screen, and the remainder of her senses alert to the environment, Valentine gave a response. It consisted of a variety of miscellaneous computer-like lingo in which she hadn't completely understood; about the only recognizable subjects were the words "System" and "Files."

Thank God Jill had it written down.

*The computer whirs and chirps. A schematic displays itself on the screen, showing the layout of sub levels 1 and 2. Sub level 3 is restricted.*

*The time displayed begins to count down slowly. So far, Jill had a map of the first two levels of this place, and the location of the Cell Blocks. There was an email in the inbox she could try and read, but would take the risk of tripping Intrusion countermeasures.*

Well, Valentine had a good map of Sub Lvl. 1 already...But this, for purposes unknown, seemed more complex. In addition, there was another one here of the B2 area.

However, suspicion slowly crept up her spine when all eyes leveled upon the Email. A gloved finger hovering centimeters from the "y" key, she hesitated… and thought briefly about the whole "Intrusion Countermeasures" thing...

The woman's brow furrowed.

No. Jill would not risk it. Instead, after removing the hacking device, she began to transfer the maps available onto a separate disk she'd brought along for this task.

*The terminal completes the download, and Jill feels relief wash over her. Maybe pressing that button would have been a very bad thing.*

*She now has a map to the Cell Block as well, though trying to break Chris out right now would be unwise. It could compromise the whole operation.*

Indeed. The woman was relieved, and found her decisions nothing less than wise. Jill slipped the hacking device and the disk into the fanny pack both arrived from, and unclipped Claire's altered PINpoint.

There was nothing else she had to take care of-- Valentine knew where the Cell Blocks were now, along with the Salazar-kid's location, and the building's general layout. Even though that Email had remained untouched, perhaps either Claire or Leon would be able to come across it...

...Maybe then they could read it without such risks.

Unbidden, she smiled. There were suspicious footsteps coming from outside the office, but Jill had no worries: with the simple press of a button, she had vanished.

The cavalry would arrive soon enough.
