Tournament
Recently I went to Wellington for the Magic Regionals to try to qualify for the Nationals tournament later this year. In order to qualify you have to get into the top 8 after 5 swiss rounds.
I made it in! I in fact came first in the 5 swiss rounds beating the other two people on the same number of points based on what is called resistance which is calculated based on how well your opponents did. My resistance was very high since 4 of the 5 people I played made it to the top 8.
There were 7 Palmy players who turned up and 4 of us made it into the top 8. A good effort for our small town.
After the swiss rounds, however, there is a knock out tournament between the top 8, playing for boosters. I won the first round but got knocked out in the second meaning I came 3rd or 4th. For this I got 6 boosters. At Nationals I get two free drafts and a t-shirt. All in all a good result.
