Let me preface this by saying that I am really not into brand names. Certain things maybe - cleaning products, some cooking/kitchen ware, cereal (had a baaaad experience with generic cereal)- but not clothes, purses, shoes etc. I do most of my shopping at Marshall's and/or Target. Simply put, I love a deal. The less I spend the more I can buy, right? The thing about Marshall's though, is that sometimes you can find really expensive, high-quality, name brand stuff for cheap! I am sure you all remember the over $200 Juicy Couture sweater that I got for over 90% less than the original price there. That was a good day.
With my new job description at work, though, I am a bit busier than I used to be. I haven't left the office for lunch in about 2 weeks (plus, I've been packing all my lunches, too, to save more $$). Yesterday, though, I decided I needed to get out for a bit. I went to Marshall's, just to browse, and found a cute pair of flannel jammies - pink with skulls on them. Clearance. $5. I thought, what the hell, I will probably be living in PJs for the next few days, so why not have some new cheery ones? Especially for that price. On the clearance rack, I also found a hoodie made by Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers line. My size. $20. The only one in the whole store. I was tempted, but resisted. And couldn't get it out of my head. You see, I don't have a hoodie. Well, I do, but it's a Bush (the band, not the president) one that is an XL and about 10 years old with paint stains on it. It's not something I could throw on, say, to go to Kroger or something. So, I *could* really use a hoodie that fits and is suitable to wear outside of the confines of the apartment. I made the decision to go back today, and if it was still there it was meant to be. And it was.
Back:
I am not even really a fan of Gwen Stefani (however her husband and baby are both cute as hell - Kingston is definitely my favorite celebrity baby - take that, Shiloh and Suri! Haha - KIDDING), but I was inexplicably drawn to this hoodie anyway. Brandon loves it (and Gwen) and is thrilled that I bought it. So, it's even BK approved!! Good buy, and very much appreciated, because believe me, I don't shop anymore.
