What a day...
Well, it's only my second day here, and already I'm feeling a little more at home. I'm still trying to figure out what to call this girl I've been placed with. The name on her birth certificate is Catorina. Her immediate family calls her Caitlin. Her friends call her Cait, Cat, Kitten, Kit, or Rina. I think I like Rina the best. She says it reminds her of a teacher she had who was crazy (but nonetheless, I think she likes her anyway! ^.^)
I arrived yesterday, on my birthday. May 28th. It wasn't too much of a birthday. I got pulled out of my bag, and prodded and fiddled with for hours. It was almost as bad as what happened before....
Anyway, RinaKit's mother objected (stupidly)to my nudity. She said it might make the male members of the household uncomfortable. I wanted to tell her, that if she'd been stuck in a stuffy plastic bag for months, she'd be glad to run around naked too!!! I couldn't though. I still have no lips!
Rinakit keeps telling me all her plans for me. She's going to give me new glass eyes, if she can find them in the right size. She's going to give me makeup, and lips! She's even going to try and give me some hair. But it's all going to take time, she says. She's saving money up for my "brother" (he isn't really my brother, but we'll be living together, so he might as well be!). She still doesn't know what to name him. I say Wolfgang. She doesn't want to call him Wolfie, though.
Nonetheless, she's been spoiling me as much as she can. She's making me a trunk to keep my belongings in. She made me a new shirt yesterday, too. It took her a while, maybe three hours to draft the pattern and sew it. I feel bad I put her through all that trouble. But doesn't it look gorgeous?
She's been drafting patterns for me all day...and plans to sew them later. She's putting off reading a book, or answering questions on it. Something about something called Vietnam??? Apparently it happened after my time. She says she'll teach me about it later, if I want. Maybe, I don't know.
It's been a busy day, though, and I think I'm about to turn in for a nap. Rinakit's been catching me up to speed on all of the people I'm going to meet. I'm especially keen on meeting this Hanbyul I keep hearing about. Apparently his guardian is pretty neato too. So much to learn and so much to keep track of!
