*paces about the forge, deep in thought*

*finally comes to a decision and manifests to the house of Feanor*

Nothing, nothing. Is there somewhere we can talk, in private?

*glances around*

The forge?

*nods* All right, so long as we won't be disturbed.

I take it you can guess what this is about.

*cringes as he leads the way and shuts the door to the forge behind them*

*locks it*

Urgh.

You know things can't stay the way they are and I'm not sure where our original proposal stands now, given what happened...

*sighs and sits down*

*mumbles something about trying to make amends and therapy*

Still... yes. We have a conundrum.

Este told me you were cooperating. Don't worry, she didn't go into details, she's very scrupulous about that.

We're not ready for the jewels to be unmade but my wife doesn't like having it so close and there are clearly very few secure locations for it.

My reasoning is that the less people who know where it is the better.

Sounds sensible to me...

Hmmm...

*drums his fingers on the anvil as he thinks*

Somewhere not obvious and where no one's going to stick their greedy little fingers.

Ah-HAH!!!

It'll take a bit of work... BUT...

My piranha pond.

Drain it, put in some sort of impenetrable safe in the bottom and fill it again complete with the fish.

Well...it would be in water...

And those fish'll strip the flesh of off anything that's unfortunate enough to wind up in there.

If we told no one and did it under cover of darkness it'd be pretty secure...
