:(

You don't have to yell.

You didn't have to go running off, causing all sorts of trouble and worry, so I guess we're both going to be disappointed.

You were just worried about your stupid stone, anyway.

We were NOT just worried about the stone! There are quite a few unsavoury types who would have very much liked to have made your aquaintance if you had taken it. Do you have ANY idea what a dangerous position you put yourself in?

You may be brighter than your mother a dung-beetle is brighter than your mother but that does NOT make you invincible. You are a child and there are forces in this world that are much stronger than you.

Over-confidence is not wisdom.

I've yet to see anything I should be afraid of.

We had to up-stumps and move because of that fecker, he messed things right up in our first home. So you see, there are PLENTY of things to be afraid of.

You're intelligent, no-one could deny that. But you're also inexperienced. You can be the smartest person in the world, it doesn't make you the wisest.

To whit, the present debacle; if you were curious about the silmaril, you could have just asked, running away only created more problems and made you look suspicious and your disabling of the alarm helped create a very bad situation for an over-dramatic, but innoffensive loony, who happens to be a very good friend of your aunt's. A lot of this could have been prevented if you'd just thought the situation through instead of trying to be clever. >:|

So be smart. Learn from this. It's often the wiser course to defer to, or at least consult with those who have more experience than you.
