While studying for my pharmacology midterm, I realized that *I* would have killed our imaginary patient, Dan. Because I'm a little OCD when it comes to sharing my random thoughts and no one is around to talk to, I present you with this.
A little less than 2 years ago, Cristina and I had this conversation on Yahoo:
cris.tina says:
"scalpel"
[a•man•da] says:
"i am now in the inferior vena cava. clamp"
[a•man•da] says:
"he's in b-fib! paddles!"
[a•man•da] says:
charge to 400
[a•man•da] says:
clear
[a•man•da] says:
damnit stay with me dan
[a•man•da] says:
charge to 450
cris.tina says:
clear
cris.tina says:
stay away from the light!
cris.tina says:
i need towels here!
cris.tina says:
the vein is ruptured
[a•man•da] says:
push 3 cc's of epi
Epinephrine would have increased his heart rate and cardiac output, which sounded like a good idea, but essentially it would cause Dan to lose more blood, since his original problem was a ruptured vein. I should have given atropine instead.
FAIL Amanda, FAIL.
