as i'm sure anyone who's reading this has noticed, i go through sporatic "OMG, I LOVE LJ!!!" phases. surprise, here's another!

so, i just got back from spring break on sunday. i flew into new orleans thursday the 9th, and spent most of my time in biloxi hanging out with kallie and aunt dawn, which was fun. was kind of disappointed to see melissa get voted off american idol last week- i liked her, even though no one else did.

this past saturday we went to new orleans for the day; we planned on spending the night since my flight home left on sunday at 6 am. that ended up happening, but not the way we originally planned.

so, they're pretty lax down there about open container laws- we stopped in slidell, la, which is about halfway between biloxi and new orleans, at a daquiri shop. i got a "chocolate war" daquiri, made with bacardi 151- my worst enemy. it tasted like a sonic shake, so i, of course, loved it.

we got to the french quarter around 12:30, and went straight to tropical isle, my favorite bar on bourbon street. we drank several hand grenades (note: you only need one), and made some friends and walked around. also, if i NEVER meet another person from berkeley, i'd be ok with that.

we headed over to cat's meow (a world-famous karaoke bar) around 3, and spent the next 11 doing karaoke. i, of course, concentrated on bonnie raitt songs, but i sang some other songs as well. everyone was like GIRL, YOU CAN SING! and in response, i was like ARE YOU DRUNK? YOU'RE DRUNK, RIGHT? YOU MUST BE DRUNK! haha, it was a great time. some guys from the italian parade going on tried to pick me up after they heard me say i was from new york on stage.

ps, did i tell you i got into grad school? SU BABY! newhouse, my dream school, and tv/radio/film, my dream program. SMALLVILLE, HERE I COME! the only school i applied to, the only school that's up to my standards.

love.
