Charming monkey saunter swagger

Dec 04, 2006 17:59

Wednesday the 15th was still the worst day ever, but Thursday I woke up early-ish to do my last words and superlatives and then around 4pm me and my mom left for the airport. La la la I don't remember a lot, but I tried to write my college essay but the guy behind me kept trying to turn my light off. What a faggot. So we got to Borispol and took a local flight to Luhansk. So we basically got to our house around 6ish on Friday. We had some dinner, bathed, and went to sleep. Basically we didn't do much most of the days, since everyone was working or at school. So we slept all day and went around everywhere at night. The whole 7 hour difference thing didn't really get in the way of that. I couldn't fall asleep a couple of days and that kinda sucked.

Let's see Anya came over to visit after school one day and we went to the post office and bank with my mom and then came back and had tea and cake. Yum yum. Basically all we did was sleep, eat, and drink. Yea I loved waking up and the first thing I had was either Sheridan's or wine, or hell, horilka (idk how to translate that). Another day my grandpa's sister and her husband came over (Galya and Petro). And every other day we were at the Topilo's house, because my mom and Tanya are starting a clothing company and Tanya made like the first collection and we were all modeling it and haha good stuff. André had a new girlfriend, Vicka, that his parents actually knew about this time. He still smokes so tsk tsk on that. We were at his house practically everyday. It was kinda funny, but yea André’s grandma was there too and she's pretty funny. We had lots of taranka and beer. My fav. Oh yea and like 20 cups of tea everyday. Yea so it was a good time. I didn't get anything done but I chilled and yea I missed everyone and it was good to see at least a couple of people even though it was definitely not enough.

I didn't take many pictures at all, since there' s not much to photograph. It was cold and yea idk not very pleasant or pretty outside. I did have a weird thing for my grandma's ceilings and wallpaper so you'll see pictures of that. Yep so then on Thursday I took the train with my mom and my grandma back to Borispol on the Lvov train and we said our goodbyes at the airport and left for Kiev, and basically my mom stayed there with my grandma for another week and only came back yesterday. On the plane ride back this guy from Cleveland sat next to me and I listened to the same radio station for 6 hours... woot.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that I got a Ukrainian passport on the day we were leaving. I swear Ukraine might be worse than Russia. So much underground shit it's insane. Know the right people, pull the right strings, mention the right names, and slip in some mulah and you get what you want. The passport would've been free if I got pick it up Dec 2nd, but since we were leaving in a couple of hours I needed it right away. Hah I love how for people who were born there, are citizens, and lived their entire lives there, it takes over 2 months and lots of arguing to get a passport, and for me, who wasn't born there, and cannot even be considered a resident, nonetheless a citizen, it takes 2 hours. It was insane. I also got citizenship, don't ask how, but word up, I'm finally a citizen of a country. That only took almost 18 years. Soon enough I'll have to take the U.S. Citizenship test and hah it's all basically a waste of time.

But I need to celebrate. I'm thinking party at my house on Saturday. Who's in?

Ukrainians really go crazy with the wallpaper.

I remember these figurines from way back when...and clock.

Cutie bear from when my mom went to the Olympics in Kiev.

We brought some new fake flowers for the vase... haha
You can see the old flowers on the bottom there.

The collection is actually all crochet but these are things she made for someone else.
