heh. i agree and disagree. preeschool/kindergarden is a lot harder than you think. their is MUCH planning, although you may not need a huigh degree/masters, you do need MANY certification, including cpr, firstaid, early child hood.. etc. all thoose have to be updated OFTEn. now highschool teaching too, is hard, but the kids are at a less rocky stage in life, they dont get as easily imprinted, and dont question everything (ARG). highschool techers do require higher schooling, but they dont need as many of the requiremnts (all depending on place and stuff) ey, me moms a preschool teacher, and me dad's a highschoolteacher (and carpntery stuff too...) he teaches carpentry

I agree with Megan on most of that. Altough, in my opinion Laura, you picked the worst actors for examples. Not as in talent worst, but as in choices. There are so many good actors who love their jobs and deserve what they get paid. A lot of them do donate and stuff though, so it's not all going to them.
thats really true a lot of actors really love their jobs. some are good at acting. a lot are. i just wish that one of the hardest professions had more finacial back up, instead of decreasing the amount of people doing it for a living
you go girl!

teachers should make much more money but unfortunately somebody who looks like a monkey (i'm not gunna name names) won't take money out of his war to fund education. Actors are tricky though. As crazy as it seems some people think hilary duff is amazingly talented. Personally I think those people should be burned and raped and pillaged to death, but the point is that all actors making real money are making it because they have a large fanbase and that can't be changed. What they should do is ask all the really famous actors to give a million dollars to a pot that would be divided among teachers. If they refuse, publish the fact that they refused and other nasty facts that we get to make up in popular magazines. That will lose them more money than the million they would give to the teachers and then everyone will be happy.

With this whole teachers vs. actors thing...you are comparing the worst part of a job to the best. Being a teacher can be very rewarding even if it pays very little. On the other hand, star actors are paid well but have absolutely no privacy. And there are very few actors that are paid millions of dollars (the supply of them is limited) but there is always a constant need for teachers so a teacher will never be out of work for long. And another thing, it isnt like anyone was pulling the wool over the teachers eyes! They knew that they were probably not gonna be paid millions. I understand they should be paid more but I just thought the comparison of teachers to actors was weak. ~kate

Teachers might not have the best salary...but they have major benefits. Can you say...vacation? Teachers have tons of vacation (3 months of vacation vs the standard of two weeks)! They also have amazing retirement funds. Don't over look that.
