Okay, so I nearly had a heart attack and die at the tender age of 17 this morning. I hear my mom on the phone going something like "oh no...well, i'll make sure to wake her up now". So, she passes me the phone while I'm still in bed and it's Joe. He's saying that the last transaction I did never went through the credit card machine and that the store is down 70$. He asks me if I remember what I did and if I knew where the money went. Did I never even swipe the person's credit card? Anyway, he tells me to call him back when I remember and so I lay in my bed for about five minutes just freaking out. My heart beat is through the roof and I'm sweating like a mad man. I could lose my job, I could be fired. It would be so embarrassing at every family get together including tonight...
And then it hits me.
I call him back in a frantic and explain that right before I did the last transaction I had totalled of thinking that I was done. So, I did the total and then swiped the lady's card. Anyway, the total was 70 dollars less than it should be because the last transaction was never included. I explained all this to Joe and he totally understood. He was just reading the wrong total. And then, the most random thing happened. He asked me how much I made (I didn't know exactly, I get awkward around money) and he says he wanted to know because he wanted to give me a raise...a raise??? After I almost cost the store 70$??? He was a little surprised that I didn't know how much I made. *cough* I trust them so I don't really think about it...
Basically, before the clocked turned to 12, I almost lost my job, nearly died and then got a raise. It's been quite the monday.
