So, I was watching "Egos & Icons" on Muchmusic and I've decided that my new fav band is Green Day. They're funny, they're really close and they kind of have the same humour as Blink-182. It's funny how anti-Bush they are. Which personally makes me like them even more. It's not that they hate him and make lame excuses why he's a bad prez but they actually have intellectual reasons for not supporting his campaign. Hmm, my congrats to them. Anyway, Billie Joe Armstrong said this quote which I thought was pretty cool:

A kid once asked me what was punk, so I kicked over a garbage can and told him, "Thats punk". The kid turned around and kicked over another garbage can."Thats punk?" he asked. "No," I said, "thats trendy."

They were saying how every band today sounds like Cher (ie. Creed and Nickleback) which I totally agree with. I'm so sick of the half-ass bands who you know are only in it for the money. I'm really against those type of bands who allow money to come first over the music. Not to sound all stuck up about it, but when did money start to write a band's songs? Gah, it's lame and I don't like them.

I think that's why I like some older-ish music because, no offense, but music today sucks. There are some exceptions, I know but most of it is lame ass rap where the artist fills his entire music video with fur jackets (eww), floating money and big boob girls. Is that really what we consider music? Are we just going to watch it and go "well, I guess that's what good songs sound like today." I sound like a parent when I say this but those crap ass videos also gives younger girls the impression that they can't get a guy unless they dress for him. Which is a load of shit! I'm so grossed out every time I walk by the elementary school and see grade 6s wearing tons of make-up, small skirts and shirts that push up their sometimes non-existant, undeveloped boobs. Give me a break!
