I very rarely show pride in my Italian heritage, mostly because i don't think we do anything all that well (that is to say well enough to brag about) except for food and soccer (football for you non north americans), maybe cars too, but Ferrari is really slipping...
So if you will allow me, i would like to take this moment to support the Italian soccer team, after yesterdays performance with that beautiful last minute (literally) goal against host Germany. I really hope they can win the world cup as i know i would like to see it in my lifetime (the last time they won was in 1982 a few weeks before i was born) and i know it would really raise the spirits of a man who is sick and dying to see his country win it one more time.
