New Years Meme
1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Built super powered lasers, kayaked, went to New Orleans, Boston, handled tons of expensive equipment. Went on adult dates. Talked to men at bars. Dyed my hair blond. Went to a giant 'protest' in DC.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Last years resolutions were to develop a social life here in Virginia, watch less TV, and focus more on hobbies instead of my hermitage. Kinda pulled all of those off, some better than others. Next year I want to make life choices just for myself, and not consider any one else in the process.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope. C'mon, friends, start reproducing!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No. thank goodness.
5. What countries did you visit?
The new US cities I visited this year were New Orleans, Louisiana and Boston, Mass.
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
Hmm.. not much. More self control?
7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
In a moment of complete honesty, the last time I saw Josh.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
MY RAISE. MY SURVIVAL. When I went to bed every day telling myself I couldn't do another day, and getting up in the morning and doing another day.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Probably not doing the best analysis of my laser system at work. I know I accomplished a lot, and I know I did a good job, but it came to a certain point where I only worked 8 hours days. I know this job takes more. But I couldn't pull it off.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I got super sick at the end of the summer, when I was still living by myself. I didn't take care of myself, and i lost a week to just staying in bed feeling awful. I woke up in the middle of the night once or twice panicking that if I died it would take DAYS for some one to discover my body.
11. What was the best thing someone bought you?
My Christmas Tree!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
A friend of mine for making it to medical school, another friend of mine for finding work in the big city again, my little brother for getting into grad school, and... me?
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My own. For letting things get the best of me more than once.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent and food! And... traveling :)
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
JAZZ FEST. FLORIDA ROAD TRIP. FRIEND VISITS.
16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
Anything Lady Gaga.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
Happier-- a little self confidence and self respect can go a long way.
ii. thinner or fatter?
Same as always. Right now mostly fatter after Florida Road Trip.
iii. richer or poorer?
Richer. Always will be richer. Hopefully.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Socializing, sleeping, exercising.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
INSTANT NETFLIX.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
Went to visit a friends family down on their farm in North Carolina on Christmas Eve. Woke up in a hotel room with a mini Christmas Tree and drove down to Ft Meyer, FA to visit an old family friend.
22. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Infatuated, yes.
23. How many one-night stands?
Maybe some day I'll do one of these. Maybe.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
DOCTOR WHO. Bowties are cool.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope. Hard to hate any one.
26. What was the best book you read?
I really REALLY liked Confederacy of Dunces.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Oh, goodness. Maye a little folk?

RAISE.

Close knit group of friends in VA.

Er. Restrepo.
31.What did you do on your birthday?
My birthday weekend I booked two full days of kayaking on the Potomac in the summer with Washington Women Outdoors. It was fantastic.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Probably having some one here I could really talk with. Alas.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Yes, I'm weird. I build lasers. You want me.

MY IRON WILL.
