blood machine

this morning i woke up from the first dreams i can remember having in some time. i was all twisted in my sheets from coming in and out of sleep for the previous hour or so. i was confused. i was covered in sweat. i had ten minutes to get out the door and get to work. you know, that's not actually that much of a problem for me - crawl out of covers, brush teeth, put on the same clothes i wore yesterday, grab my lunch from the fridge, get bike, roll. i can do that in - six minutes! i find it so strange that some people can take an hour to get ready to leave the house. i don't think i could occupy that much time 'getting ready' if i tried.

i like biking in the rain a lot. maybe less when it's pouring, but the fresh grey sky spitting down at quarter to six this morning was perfect. it was so quiet. i especially love biking busy streets when it's quiet enough that i can hear my wet wheels swishing along the concrete. there were sirens. some cars went by. but mostly it was quiet. do you ever sing when you bike? i fucking love that too. i was sitting in front of my house the other day and i saw this guy zoom down clark, belting out something very grand and the guy could really sing - i yelled out something approving and sat there laughing.

at work today i drank a litre of coffee even though i was already dehydrated.

today i am sharp. yesterday's decent night of sleep did well by me. i've power cleaned the thanksgiving disaster, made a multiple-stop bottle run ($4.50, YES), caught up on some readings for school. i'm about to cover a wall with parcel paper. i consider this productive.

music of the day:
opeth, isis, holy fuck, man man,
then
chad vangaalen, because i'm seeing him tomorrow and am REALLY excited.

here, have an unrelated photo.
