Scrawling down the information from the book in front of her, Hermione had already reached three feet of parchment. It was dotted with crossed out lines and little notes in the margins she had every intention of re-writing it out in a neater and more suitable fashion before the day was done.

She felt, rather than saw Ron slip into the seat opposite her, and didn't look up as she tried to finish the paragraph she was working on. Eventually throwing a full stop at the end, Hermione glanced upwards, dropping her quill down onto the desk. "That really is quite annoying you know."

"I saw something." Ron whispered loudly, not even going to TRY to attempt to explain away the annoying bit, "Well, I think I did."

Only for Harry would I... gossip. Euch.

So he hoped beyond hope that Hermione would be able to say that it was nothing.

"It was... Luna and Neville."

Hermione raised an eyebrow. He either saw something or he didn't, it had to be one or the other, but she didn't say anything and waited patiently for Ron to finish.

"What was Luna and Neville?"

Ron fumbled for his words, trying not to say something extremely stupid that would make the situation worse. So instead, he brought his hands together slowly, as if in a puppet show, until his two hands were shaking each other. They lingered in this hug, one finger stroking the other before jumping back to their original places on the table. He did this whole thing he did with constant pauses and looking back up at Hermione.

He finally gave up and heaved a big sigh, "I saw them hugging. But not in a... "Oi mate, nice hit!" but in a... I didn't get a long look, I was just trying to escape without being seen. But then I was, and they... well. I dunno, Hermione..."
