As Remus, Alastor, and Draco were headed for the door, Arthur thought this would be a good time to have a friendly chat with Draco about Ginny. He waited for Remus and Alastor to leave before saying, "Um, Draco, could I have a word with you, please?"

Draco had felt Mr. Weasley's eyes holding him back, so he lingered. "Yes, sir," he said casting one last glance at the freedom the door offered before turning to face Ginny's father.

"I wanted to talk to you about you and Ginny, Draco," he ushered Draco to the sitting room, where he offered him some cookies, "..I know that our families have our differences but I just wanted to tell you that I do support your relationship so if there is anything you need to talk about, you can talk to me about it."

Draco had gone a little paler when Mr. Weasley had said he wanted to talk about his relationship with Ginny. His show of support caught Draco completely off guard. "Er-uh-wha?"

Arthur noticed Draco getting nervous from the mention of his daughter but tried to reassure him that he wasn't about to lecture him on dating, "What I'm trying to say is that... erm, Mrs. Weasley and myself are fine with you dating her."

He put down the cookie bin on the table, contemplating what he should say next. "Do you.. do you really like Ginny?"
