((ooc: thanks--I wasn't sure how to get started on the main page!))

Daphne walked into the Great Hall and immediately noticed that Potter and his friends were back. She felt the automatic sneer coming on, and deliberately looked away. She had been glad when they'd left, hoping that--maybe--Potter would be run over by a rampant Hippogriff or something else horrible.

She looked at the Slytherin table and noticed Blaise sitting by himself, pushing eggs around on his plate. She glanced at the Hufflepuff and noted that Abbot wasn't there, thank Merlin. Sliding into the empty seat next to Blaise, she smiled at him.

"Morning," she said, putting toast and some eggs on her own plate. "You seem preoccupied."

Blaise stopped scooting his eggs around. "I'm wondering where they've gone," he said, assuming Daphne would know who he meant. "And more to the point, why they were allowed back again."

Promise was a little groggy that morning, she had woken late and not had time to run to the kitchens and get her morning cup of coffee. She wandered toward her seat at the table and stopped short barely two feet from it looking oddly in its general direction for it seemed to already be filled. She lowered her eyebrows and looked mildly annoyed for a moment. She'd sat there every single morning from the day she'd been sorted into Slytherin, she wasn't entirely certain why Daphne had decided it was alright to take it. She stood for only a moment before deciding to shrug it off and say nothing. She didn't mind Daphne, really. Once the annoying and incessant questions about herself and Blaise had stopped she'd found no real reason to be bothered by her ( ... )

Blaise made a sound that could have been an acknowledgement. Goyle actually used words to return the greeting. "Potter's back," he added conversationally.

"Fantastic," Promise said in a voice that was more bored than anything it did have a hint of irritation but it was unclear whether it was irritation at the fact stated or the fact that her seat had been swiped. She HAD never liked Harry Potter much. She liked Hermione well enough and she didn't know Ron but Harry had been so very rude to her when they'd first met.

She flipped open her Romanian book and began putting some food on her plate. She missed American food. Breakfast potatoes and grits, she craved them fairly often and never got them.

Daphne glanced at Promise as she walked over and smiled a bit. She didn't have any particular feelings for or against her, and supposed they got along. Mostly.

She glanced at Blaise, then Potter. "Well, obviously they were allowed back because they're McGonagall's pets, aren't they?" She sneered at them. "Look at them. Weasley....is he crying?"

She glanced up as an owl swooped down and delivered the Daily Prophet at her plate. she paid it, then opened it, snickering at the front page. "So now people are worried about the Death Eaters, are they?" she asked, then scrolled down the article. "I figured out why Weasel looks upset..." she said.
