The house of blood and boils

 Setting: St. Mungo's
Characters: Moody and Kingsley

I had begun to hate this hospital. I'd been here far too often of late, if not visiting the injured, then I was visiting the dead. But I wanted to check up on Shacklebolt before I met with Dumbledore. There was always the chance that he would be able to tell me something more, and, more than that, I wanted to see how he was coping with the tragedy. Not that I would tell him, but I'd become quite fond of him and I certainly didn't want him to suffer.
I peered suspiciously around at the sick and their relatives as I entered, my paranoia even more awake given the recent events. I subjected the receptionist to the same look and she made no objections when I swept straight in. I knew exactly where he was and I wasn't in the mood to go through the usual procedures. The heightened security on the place after the Russian ambassador's death could be a little worrisome at times.
Shacklebolt was on what had become the Auror's private rooms. There was another young man in there also when I entered, Garrick, but he was fast asleep so I didn't bother to go over. It was a relief, the man was one of the most boring individuals on the planet.
