Took Simba to the pet cemetery yesterday. All my family's pets from since I was super little are buried there. His mum and twin sister are both there as well. He got a nice spot too, easy to find near the entrance. I felt real bad for the poor boy who had to dig the hole though, Simmy was a big cat and a dozen or more rats went in too. Plus it was super hot out (plus I found out it was supposed to be his day off). Spent quite a while seeing if we could find the grave markers for the other animals we have there (found 2 of like 10) then gave up and did a tour of the zoo that shares the property. Took a gig worth of photos. Some are really nice. Picspam will surely follow. I really like that zoo. It's small and family owned, but the animals are all well cared for and they do a lot to support education about wildlife there. Plus it always made a pet dying a bit less sad when I was younger, cause I'd get to see all the animals at the zoo to cheer me up (who am I kidding, that's still totally true - you can't be sad about your dead cat while you pet an adorable wolf pup). Got a bit sunburned on my wrists and cheeks. Also, crashed from sheer exhaustion at like 5pm and didn't really get up till I had to leave for work this am.
Work today was cool (though not literally, at all. AC still not working in the lobby). Got a $5 gift card to 'buy myself an icedcapp' because I actually did my job (*well*) despite the stifling heat behind the snack bar. Plus served
Gordon Pinsent popcorn. I love him, he's crazy talented and was super nice. He seemed like the type of guy who has a wicked sense of humour. So now I've met Benny and deadBob, just need to meet Callum now and my collection will be complete.
Poor bubba is apparently a bit scared of thunderstorms; he just came to sit by/under my feet. May see if he'll play some fetch to keep his mind off it (yes, I play fetch with my dog indoors, doesn't everyone?)
