life is good (or at least not terrible)
So You Think You Can Dance is back. Never watched anything pre-voting before, I've watched most of 2 seasons, but I always came late to the game. It was on while I was tutoring yesterday, and since I'd dragged Naomi to tutorboy's house with me so we could go to the movies after, she watched it with his parents. Ended up watching the last ten minutes then and the rest just now online. Really love that show, but it's so addictive, I meant to go shower and head to bed a while ago.
Saw Iron Man yesterday (the aforementioned movie), with Naomi and Vicky. It was soooo awesome. May have to go again. Naomi and Vicky have never really hung out before (they've barely even met) but they seemed to get along. We both crashed at Vicky's but I got up early and went to work - hopefully they continued to get along, and I won't hear about how one is in prison for stabbing the other over the last peanutbutter oreo.
'Why does it matter that they get along?' you ask, 'they went like 8 years without really meeting, who cares if they don't like each other' But Nom and I are spending more time now that she's working in the same place as me (if not actually with me most of the time) and I am maybe (who are we kidding? almost certainly - assuming we can work out all the details and logistics) be rooming with Vicky until Nom is old enough to get a place with me next year. It basically lifted sooo much stress off me when I saw that Vicky's place may actually be big enough for her crazy plan of the two of us sharing to work (assuming she can deal with the pets and all my CRAZY rules for keeping order; most of which only apply to me caring for my pets anyway). Sharing a place is just seriously soo much cheaper.
And the brother finally got off his ass (or really the mother got off hers) and got the ball rolling on getting disability. I honestly think with proper help, in the right circumstances, he could work, but his emotional state right now - no way. He barely manages to care for himself the few hours a day he's left to his own devices. So there's some money other than mine coming in pretty soon. The family won't starve on my account. Another weight lifted.
Now... bed. will have to shower in the am before work. Good night!
