I am a bear what talks!

Back from camping! place did not burn down in my absence, animals all still alive as well.
had wicked amounts of fun tempered by massive desire to commit fratricide. Both were shared by Vicky and Barb, the second not so much by Nathy. Still. Some highlights:
  • set up in dark, seconds before the downpour began. rained first night, third day, and a little bit a couple other times.

  • clear skies tuesday so we swam, saw frogs, walked, biked, swam some more, got massive sunburns... you know, fun stuff!

  • saw a stick bobbing in water. Bobbed too consistently. On closer inspection realized was a snake. (see more on this topic later)

  • saw two woodpeckers, never seen one before so was super excited. Camera was in tent. Doh! (still managed to take 140 other pics)

  • flew kites one day. They were mutinous kites. They would go up really high, all the better to dive bomb us.

  • I don't know how to ride a bike, ride a bike, ride a bike. I don't know how to ride a bike, I may fall and die!

  • Brother also doesn't know how to ride a bike. Teaching him did not go well.

  • Barb and Nathan noticed a cool spotted stick by our campfire one morning. Not a stick, a snake. an angry snake when I tried to photograph it. An angry snake what rattles when mad! Called parks guys to take it away. That really made it mad. COOLEST THING EVER!

  • Used fake names for 3 days. Were: Zoe (V), Mal (N), River (B), and Wash (me), then Elizabeth (V), Teyla (B), John (N) and Cadman (me), and the last day we bothered we were Torri (V), Rachel (B), Jason not Joe (N) I did say I was bad with the fake names, and Paulie (me). I forgot and used our real names all but the first day. Those suited us best. I liked being Wash (besides, I did ALL the dishes. Was the only one not repulsed by camp soap and nasty dishwater)

  • Fake names were most fun when introducing selves to neighbors who had bawled us out for being loud at like 10:30! they already heard us use our own names the first night, then we introduced ourselves with different names next day.

  • Played with little kids. Helped a 5 year old find a frog to show her big sister. Made her day. Played with Ethan the 3 year old who showed up our last day. He was the cutest.

  • the cools people add 'the' and 's' to the things when the them are the speakings.

  • Had to pack a station wagon worth of crap into Barb's dad's car cause the station wagon her brother used to drop us off died on the way back to the city (poor guy, had to work all day then doesn't get home till like 3 cause of helping us out).

  • Will either post pics here or on
runonmoonlight's journal (where more people will see them) either way there will be links to pics if not actual pics posted soon. The pics are uploading now as today is the older brother's birthday and the camera will be required. However as it is the brother's bday, I will be away all day and have no chance to post till tomorrow at the earliest.

  • I do not want to think about what awaits at work. EEEP!

That is all for now, must wrap the Brother's present before it's time to head to the zoo. Maybe more to follow with the pics, we will see how work is when I get back, I may be too tired from playing catch up there to do much here.
