Turkeys et al

Well, it's the day after and everything went pretty well considering there were several kids running around getting into trouble and we didn't return from the parade until noon. Fortunately, I was able to claim the need to lay down w/ Andrew so HE could nap. He's sick and John and I are fighting off the cold.

The parade was pretty neat - I think being there was the neatest part. Just seeing all of the people it takes to pull off the parade was really amazing. Of course, we didn't know about the balloon incident until later in the afternoon. I still haven't heard the full story on that. Mr. Potato Head got a little out of control when they were going past us and most of the balloons were more flat than standing up, because of the weather.

Patrick liked seeing the Ninja Turtles - costume of choice for Halloween and cake of choice for his bday. Hard to believe he is 5. I can still remember being in the hospital and holding such a tiny thing. He is now growing quite a bit. He's wearing size 8 in most things and his shoe size is either a 1 or a 13 - depends on the shoe. Funny, I do remember wearing a 6x as a child - and he's passed that.

Patrick is going through a fairly moody stage right now. He has a smarty mouth and is getting into trouble fairly often. He CAN be so sweet, but the he can be complete vinegar, too.

Oh, we went to see "Chicken Little" today. I thought it was pretty good and Patrick enjoyed it. John's mom snoozed a little, but I think it's because we're all pretty tired. Ann Marie - whoever that is - was also at the movie theater. The girls behind the counter were all a flutter about her. She is some kind of singer as one of the girls mentioned her new video. No clue who she is. I liked the movie, it had a good story line, and the graphics were neat. Supposedly they did some really detailed work on C.L. himself - number of feathers or something.

Saw "When Harry Met Sally" the other day on tv. I just love that movie. I also like "You've Got Mail" which I really hated the first time I saw it. Since they show it fairly frequently, I have seen it many times and it has grown on me.

I'm watching "Monk" now. I love his OCD. I would like to invite him to my home, either that or the "Clean Sweep" people. I try not to be a pack rat, but with all of the hand-me-down clothes (4 1/2 seasons worth)it gets a little out of control.

So in closing, if you have the chance to see "Chicken Little," do so.
