bye-bye 2007!

Dec 30, 2007 14:59

I started this year not caring about what was gonna happen. I was just glad to get 2006 over and done with.

But, in fairness to 2007, it was a good year. Not great, but good na rin naman. (Okay, it might have been great, pero mababa lang talaga ako magevaluate eh. Hahaha.)

Here are my ten highlights of the year:

Kythe Summer Camp (13-15 April 2007)

Three days of being real Ates and Kuyas to the kids. Super duper fun! If anything, it reinforced whatever reason I had at that time for being in Kythe. I really got to know the kids personally eh, as compared to visits
which are just a couple of hours long. Basta, super worth it experience nya, and I want to go back next year!

Boracay 07! (18-21 May 2007)

First out of town trip with barkada! Hahaha! Though it was just Tina, Tel, Mon and me, we met up naman with sila Homer, Gia and Mae, which made it so much more fun. :) Yay!

Can't wait for Bora this year! Sana lang, mas maraming makakasama with us. :)

Zambales 07! (24-26 May 2007)

Good job dahil in two weeks, twice akong nagbeach. Fresh from Bora, (and with fresh sunburns) I went with the gang to Zambales, parang yearly thing na rin namin. :) Yay!

Three days of pictionary, beer, charades, yosi, and tambay sa beach. Slept under the stars pa. Nothing beats being with great people. :)

ORSEM 2007
OrSem this year was bittersweet. It felt like coming back to something that I really love doing and at the same time, trying to relish every moment because I know it will be my last. True enough, my OrSem this year was my best ever. I was with my friends the whole time (dahil sa napakagandang sleeping arrangements namin at that time), and I met super great people. I had my best batch of freshies pa this year, block T3!

Kahit solo lang ako for three days, and by the end of the third day, I had literally no voice left, it was waaaay worth it. I'm seriously gonna miss TnT-ing. It's something that really made a difference in my college life. :)

Pia Grace Escalante

This little baby is one of my highlights for this year for two reasons. One, because she's brought so much joy to Sam, her mom, and to us as well, and two, because she's brought our barkada together again. The two times this year that all 8 of us were present all had to do with her -- first was the baby shower, and second for her christening.

She's the first baby of the barkada, and we all plan on spoiling her (until the next baby comes. hahaha.) But we do have great plans for her, though. I hope she grows up as a good and happy child. I can't wait to watch her life unfold. :)

Bangkok Trip! (23-26 October 2007)

Level up ang sembreak! From Baguio and Hundred Islands last year, we went to Bangkok, Thailand! It was 3 1/2 days of getting lost in the city, eating weird delicacies, neverending temples, and of course, SHOPPING. :) Grabe sa daming adventure dun, all memorable. :)

Blue Christmas (01 December 2007)

I super love this picture because it captured the feeling of the day. It was like being a kid once more, playing with all those kids. I feel bad that this was my first and last time being part of this event, half day pa, because of the Kythe Christmas Party that afternoon. Those few hours I shared with those little kids made a mark on me, because I had not felt that kind of feeling in a long while.

Kythe Family Day (24 November 2007)

This was literally the first big project I've headed for Kythe. It was a day for the kythe kids and their families to bond and be with each other for that whole day. We had swimming, bingo, decorating christmas stockings, and an amazing race activity.

In so many ways, this project tested me. It tested if I really was able to pull off a project as big as this and it tested my levels of OC-ness and stress, because that week was also Kythe
's Tambay Week. It really wasn't easy. To top it off, the next day was my UP Law Entrance Exam, so by the end of that week, all I wanted to do was to cry it all off.

Whether it was a success or not, I'm still happy, because we managed to fulfill what we all wanted, which was to make the kids and their families happy. At the end of the day, despite the fatigue, it was all worth it. :)

Time with friends!

My 2007 would not have been this fun if I had not spent it with my friends for the most part. :) I live for random tambays at Cis' or at Nikka's. Starbucks Katipunan has become like a third home. Dinners with the barkada are always something to prepare for. The Kythe room has been my place-to-be during breaks (and sometimes, during class times too.)

Honestly, I can't wait for 2008. If only I wasn't graduating, I would be looking forward to the same random things again. But because I'll be graduating, there's still a part of me that's scared of the coming year. It'll be a year of changes, that's for sure, and God knows I don't like much change. But because I can't do anything about that now, I'll try to expect the same random things again, just to keep my mind off the inevitable. :)

So, here's my official goodbye to 2007. :)
