Johnny: Do you know where you're gonna be in 10 years.
Andrew: (shakes head)
Johnny: THANK FUCKING GOD! I thought I was the only one. I"m so lost dude.
If its one thing, that, is very comforting, for those also feeling
lost, is that, you really arent alone. Fuck statistics and all that
saying how many kids drop out of high school, college, switch majors,
careers etc. Your fucking friends, who've always been there for you,
are still, right next to you as we get thru this thing called life.
And I find much comfort in that. And you guys should too.
After high school i would think how stupid i was not to get straight
A's when i had so many friends who could've helped me cheat and maybe
studied a little. In college now, if you have a class with ONE friend,
you're like THANK GOD, WE GOTTA LOOK OUT FOR EACHOTHER MAN! Now, since
everyone's doing their own thing it seems like you don't have many
people riding next to you. But in all reality, you do.
I remember going to dennys with jeremy late at night, thinking about my
problems in my head, and i'd look up at this guy and think "well fuck,
at least this guy's right here with you...i mean, sure, he puts a lotta
tobasco sauce in his food. But you're not alone."
So we're all lost, and we're all stressing about it. All of us have
different lives these days, some go to school, UC's, CSU's, JC's, no
school at all, working, living at home, living kind of far away, living
really far away, and we're all pretty much like, "fuck, i hope this
works out."
If thats the case, if we're all lost, even if we're all going on
seperate paths, then maybe its not about what you DO with your life.
Cuz we're all doing different things, yet we're still all lost. So
maybe we're, I'm, looking at it all wrong. Maybe we're all just suppose
to be young and do whatever we feel like and have fun and enjoy it. The
youth of the 60s did it, and look at them now, they're our doctors and
lawyers and politicians. They did not give a fuck back then. Maybe
thats our generation's problem, maybe this system tricked us into
giving too much a fuck about everything. Fuck it. Do what feels right.
I'm going to school next semester and work night and weekends at
starbucks. ahhh, It's such a nice feeling going back to being a regular
dude again. I've decided i am retiring the title "actor" and that for
now, i'm just a dude. Just a dude. Who...happens to go on auditions a
few times a week, and happens to know how to act sorta. I think I'm
just consider myself a regular young adult who works, goes to school,
and lives on his own. Its such a nice feeling. And no, i'm nowhere
close to quitting acting. but ive decided i dont need to take it so
seriously anymore. I feel like i dont have to figure out how the
industry works n shit like that. I know how it works, so now its all
about, whatever happens, is whatever happens. i'll go to auditions,
show em what i got like always, and dont even worry about what happens
after.
I actually feel very lucky that i can go back to my simple life
and still nonchalantly attempt something really big. Damn fuckin
straight. like i dont have to work so hard anymore. i dunno why i felt
like i had to, but i dont.
I'm just tired of letting my career determine how i feel about myself,
especially now cuz, my resume is short, and nothing on it so i feel
shitty about it. But of course its short! i just started, so maybe when
i get more credits i can start calling myself an actor again, but until
then, i got my eyes on ps3. i cant wait for that shit to come
out...another year...dam....
