The News.
i had an acting teacher who made a very good point about 9/11. Basically, something tragic went down, and on the one yr aniversary (fuck i cant spell that word, hopefully i'll know by the time i get married) anyway, on the one yr aniversary, the show footage of 9/11. theres a chance they might do it again this year.
If your child died in a horrible car accident, and somehow, there was footage of it, would you, after a year, play it over for everyone to see in "honor" or "respect" of her? I don't like the news. that doesnt mean i dont care about whats going on in the world, but god, how fuckin manipulating they can be. playing the same shit over and over again.
I hope people see the footage of all those black people in new orleans looting n shit say "dam, thats some crazy shit, look at all those people looting" instead "look at all those black people looting...just look at'em go."
unfortunately, the only way to show your care for whats going on in the rest of the world is to resort to the news. u cant exactly go everywhere and see for yourself.
i think we're approaching an era of subjectivity, contradictions, grey areas, and spectrums that we've never seen before. In a time, with enough eloquence, you can defend hitler with a decent argument. Its crazy. Hold on people. Hold on to yourselves.
