Aokigahara, the forest of suicides at the foot of Mt. Fuji (warning for disturbing images). The place is so infamous for suicides local authorities conduct an annual search to retrieve bodies -- and they suspect there are many more they never find.
I have to admit, there's part of me that thinks this would be a fascinating place to check out next time I go to Japan (I haven't done Mt. Fuji yet). Then there's the reasonable part of me that just says, "are you insane?"
