Veruca Salt Did anyone here get to go to L4 over the weekend?
It seems Lauren Lee Smith's appearance at the
L Event was a rousing success! She did indeed sub for Sarah Shahi, while
Guinevere Turner (Gabby Deveaux) replaced Laurel Holloman from the original guest list.
Thanks to the efforts of several intrepid fans, including the wonderful McBuffy and BetteAndTinaForever, many of our lingering burning questions about our beloved actress were answered: why she decided to leave Mutant X, details about her tattoos, her thoughts about The L Word & future projects, and much more. Reports of these question and answer sessions with Lauren can be found
here,
here, and
here. Her sweet personality and original sense of humor shine through as always.

Back in November we had the scoop that the Canadian Broadcast Company (CBC) series Intelligence is coming to DVD in all of North America on April 29th. Now Acorn Media has given us more details, including extras and box art, for Intelligence - Season 1.
The 4-disc set will list for $59.99 in the USA, and comes with video in 16:9 Widescreen and audio in English - Stereo. The 14 episodes will run approximately 676 minutes. Bonus material consists of Behind-the-Scenes Clips, a Biography of Series Creator Chris Haddock (Da Vinci's Inquest), Character Descriptions, Cast Filmographies, "and more". Here's the studio description of this release, followed by a picture of the packaging:
This critically acclaimed drama from the creator of Da Vinci's Inquest takes you deep inside the murky world of organized crime and the cops who keep tabs on it. As a dedicated father, respected businessman, and big-time drug smuggler, Jimmy Reardon (Ian Tracey) feels the heat from outlaw bikers muscling in on his territory. Mary Spalding (Klea Scott), the ruthlessly ambitious head of Vancouver’s Organized Crime Unit, fears her rivals in the intelligence community more than she fears criminals. Together, Jimmy and Mary form an uneasy alliance that threatens to undo them both.
From Vancouver's mean streets to its high-rise offices, Intelligence shows the shifty nature of undercover information-gathering, where your deadliest enemy can become your closest confidant and treachery is taken for granted.
