So I finally got around to signing up for Linkedin last night. I really didn't want to and I've been putting it off for ages but I finally gave in because it seems like the only way I can get in contact with a bunch of people I knew in the past from my construction days and some of my former architecture classmates. Unlike lawyers who are forced to be on the internet with their whole professional lives laid out along with their email addresses and phone number, construction and architecture people are not so exposed.

I knew it was going to be as creepy as fuck but OMG it was even creepier than I ever imagined. Yikes! I have a fairly new computer with not much search history on it, I keep my personal email account pretty cleaned out of people I don't want to be in contact with, I downloaded a new browser than I was only planning on using to access Linkedin, I logged out of my email account which I only access in another browser anyway and shut that down, and I denied Linkedin access to import any of my contact info....yet one of the first people that was suggested to me as someone I might want to friend....is a person I haven't spoken to in over 5 years since she told me she no longer wanted to be friends with me. So freaking creepy! I've never looked her up on the internet since we stopped talking, I do not have her contact information or any emails from her in my email account, we have no friends or schools or work history in common so how the hell she gets dragged up and connected to me is beyond me. So freaking creepy!

I've tried to figure out to the best of my ability how to keep the creep factor down and spent some time trying to adjust my privacy settings to the best of my ability but if anyone uses this site and has any other suggestions on things I should do or shouldn't do, please let me know.

Also, happy day before Valentine's Day! May you all enjoy lots of chocolate or whatever other treat you might enjoy!
