in case i haven't told you already - HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY and I ♥ YOU. and my birthday is in 5 days.
i saw "the gates" saturday and sunday. initially, i thought they looked like construction-zone flags. after a second viewing, i saw what a striking contrast they create with the drab winter colors, and their vibrancy made me kind of cheerful. they're beautiful in a quirky way. you have to see them when the sun hits them just right and the wind is blowing so that they all move together.
and JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE OR UNDERSTAND IT, DOESN'T MEAN IT ISN'T ART.
