Summary: Rukia meets Namine. Because, you know, I can't possibly rp with myself.
Rukia was taking a morning walk
in the village. She has developed the habit in the past weeks of her stay. Her
walks didn’t get boring- there was always something new (and usually strange) to
discover. Also, a lot more people seem to pour in the village everyday. Chances
are there will be one or two new faces to meet along the way.
It was an ordinary day. Rukia
found a few chickens that managed to get out of their cages and decided to put
them back in. While hushing the chickens back to the cage, she noticed a girl
with blonde hair standing a few steps from her. She was watching her carefully.
“What are you staring at?” said
Rukia, putting the chicken back in and closing the door.
The girl flinched at Rukia’s
attitude and smiled nervously. “Sorry... I-I was just curious,” she stuttered.
“Don’t stutter like that,” said
Rukia. “I don’t bite.” She studied the girl and realized that she hasn’t met
her before. “You’re new here?”
“Yes,” the girl replied. “My name
is Namine.”
“Namine? I’m Rukia Kuchiki,”
“Pleased to meet you, Miss Rukia,”
“Nice to meet you too,”
Rukia’s eyes fell on the girl’s
hands. She was holding a sketchbook and a pencil.
“You draw?” Rukia asked.
“Yes,” said Namine.
“I draw too,” said Rukia. She
then pulled out her sketchbook from... well... nowhere, really, but that’s not
the point. Anyways, she showed it to Namine.
Namine flipped the sketchbook
open and looked through the drawings. She found them quite cute albeit a bit
too childish. But then, Rukia didn’t look any older than her.
“They’re... um... nice,” she said
quietly. At least she wasn’t exactly lying.
“That’s good,” said Rukia, taking
back the sketchbook. “I see that you’ve got an eye for art. My friends- back
where I came from- didn’t appreciate them.”
The blonde girl didn’t really
wonder why. She gave another nervous smile.
“Anyways, I’ll be on my way now,”
Rukia said. “You take care. There are a lot of strange things in this place.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” said
Namine, a smile still plastered on her face.
As the blonde watched Rukia walk
away, she wondered if the other people in the village are stranger than she is.
