I feel sick. I've just gone and booked (and paid for) tickets to visit New Zealand later on this year. I shouldn't feel sick, afterall it's just a holiday. I'm not packing up and leaving the UK permanently. But I do feel horrible now that I have booked

In the mean time, you'll do okay on holiday. It sounds like you're going to see family, and maybe that's a good grounded decision to start with, vs maybe bungee jumping in Africa or something.. (that may not be as wise a decision..)
My sister is like "Am I supposed to wear the black dress and sit in a corner weeping for the rest of my life?." She continued to rent the seashore home for the continuity's sake for the kids that summer, ('04) and this December she will go back to Disney world (I will be going with her) for the first time since R died. She had to kick some major ass to secure her home and belongings, find a job, and continue to survive, she's fiesty as ever and very self sufficient.
You made many smaller decisions after Ian leading up to this larger one. It's a good decision.
