in whych i muse on breathing.

I'm learning a better way to breathe.  It's totally disorienting, but exciting, too!  I discovered a muscle at the top of my throat that was constantly tense and inhibiting how much air I could take in.  At one of my lessons a few years ago with the wonderful Scott Millichamp, he helped me start paying attention to tension in my throat.  Yesterday morning I first noticed something about this muscle thing, but it's just tonight that I'm learning to control it and getting used to keeping it open.  I think this is important progress for me.  I still believe I can learn to cure my breathing issues.  (I don't like calling it asthma because that sounds like a lifelong condition that requires medical treatment and much unpleasantness.  Also, I have trouble spelling it correctly.)

living better, dork
