To my parents: Happy 25th anniversary!! :D I wouldn't even know if my grandmother hadn't told me, since my parents are nonchalant about it.

Ooh, congrats to your parents!

1. NO SKIPPING CLASSES.
:'DDD I do this too. Shame on us :'D (okay, pretty much everyone does it, I think XD;) Like--- more than I probs should. Well actually I didn't skip THAT many classes last year, just a few when I was having a really bad day as far as social things go.

Are you taking sociology? I've sort of thought about taking it as my second minor. My first plan when I started uni was to minor in kielitiede, but--- it's just so--- I don't know. I struggle with it and find it pretty dull most of the time. :'D;; (not to mention how their classes ALWAYS overlap with something else I have. Clearly they don't even want me there! 8D)

Thanks! :D

XDD Yes, I know that everyone does it, but I really don't want to do it, if it's unnecessary, because it affects my studies on a whole. I've also been getting better at not skipping classes. But I still have a long way to go. XDD Ganbare, us!!

Yeah. :D I thought sociology sounded interesting. :D I've also done psychology in summer uni, but I'm not sure if it will qualify as a minor(even if I get 25 points). For now my plan is to get through the basic courses of sociology(though I wouldn't mind taking more, IF I need them). Linguistics? Ewwww~~~Of course if one finds it interesting, that's another question. (classes always overlap!! one reason why I haven't been taking as much as I want to... though it might be a good thing in the long run). So... Korean is your minor...I guess you're taking 60p worth of courses?? (Though you wouldn't necessarily need another minor, then...)

Well I'm looking for another minor next to anthro, since I'd rather have two minors rather than just one. I-- just haven't decided on what to take yet, ahaha. XD;; I've sort of meddled around for now. I'm trying to push myself to finish linguistics since I already have some courses in it, but as I said it really doesn't interest me that much. Korean is just my so called "minor language", hahah. :'D It's not required (I think? I'm really confused as far as required courses go XD;), and I'm just taking it for fun. Although I don't know if I'm taking it this year since it's so much work and I could try fitting in other courses instead of it... aaaaah! Decisions, decisions!

Aaah... I've so misunderstood everything! XDD So, Korean would be part of your "additional courses"? XDD (I'd love to take Japanese like that.. maybe later, when there are no more courses in the language centre, but I doubt it's possible.) But you could take it as a minor??
Hmm.. wait is there just "anthropology" or do you mean "social and cultural anthropology"? One of those courses is part of sociology as well. :D
How much do you have left of linguistics? How much have you taken of anthropology? Heh, it would be cool if you could start sociology with me. XDD (I'm guessing that courses would overlap, though). There are very few courses that are actual lessons/lectures. Most are self-study (and there's one internet course).
And yeah.. there are SO many difficult decisions to be made. WHY is uni so.. free? XD

Yeah, something like that~ I'll probs add it as just something extra I -once again- meddled in. XD; I'm not sure how it would work as a minor, actually. I-- I CLEARLY KNOW NOTHING! :'D *hangs head in shame* (_ _ )~
Oh, yeah! It's soc&cult. anthro. I just always call it anthro cause it's shorter. XD (how lazy aren't I?) Yeah, I was just looking at the sociology page and saw the first anthro course there, hahah. :D Ohhh man, maybe I should just opt for sociology, since as you said it doesn't have many courses that have lectures (=no problems trying to fit courses in one's schedule XD). I'll have to see how my schedule turns out, but if it won't overlap with anything then I think I'll just sign up for that~ :'D (and then possibly just take a few courses in linguistics as additional courses)
I've taken two courses in linguistics aaand I'm working on my third in anthro. (the exam with the brick!books as required reading XD; I REALLY NEED TO START STUDYING--)

Um.. if you get 25p or 60p (aka the basic course or the basic courses + intermediate courses), that's a minor, right? And you need at least either two 25p or one 60p for your degree ;) (if you have NO "other studies" then it would be a 60p and a 25p (but usually one has those, anyway ( ... )

I... think so, yes? XD So my plan was to have two 25p minors, possibly some more in either one, I-- haven't really thought this through yet, rofl. :'D But at least 25p in two, and then either extend on one of them or have all my random meddling!courses added as additional ones. My grand plan is to march into the office one day and just go "HELP ME, I'M CONFUSED AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING AND AND AND BTW CAN YOU HELP ME NARROW DOWN MY THESIS AS WELL??" I am clearly a mature person who knows how to take care of stuff. :'D ... *FAIL ( ... )

But what about Korean?? I'm guessing you pro. have more than enough of Korean and linguistics for "other studies". ;) (You could just extend Korean as well.. ?? You sure you can't use it as a minor? Or are you taking solely language courses ( ... )

I probs can't choose Korean culture as a minor since then I would be sort of be minoring within the major I already have..? Okay, that makes no sense, but I don't think I can minor in it. XD I WISH I COULD. Would make things so much easier, hahah! But yeah, I'm just taking language courses (I have 10p worth at the moment ( ... )

A minor within the major?? So.. you mean you can only choose ONE field of interest? (You can't have both Japanese and Korean culture). Oh well, anyway, you'll have enough "other courses", then. XDD
I REFUSE to accept my role as the "stupid person", but probably everyone else has, since I'm constantly angsting about "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?"
Hmm.. I don’t know if everyone else has clear goals.. Hardly anyone I know actually knows what they're going to do with their degree. They're a lot more productive than me, though. XD
Hmm.. I thought psych would be more interesting. I've taken three course, liked two(psychological research methods and clinical psychology) and out of the two courses left I KNOW I'll hate one of them. (Studying functions of the brain? Ugh).
So.. NOW you're thinking of social psychology?? XDDD I'm guessing it's less complicated and closer to sociology.. (not that I know ANYTHING). I was thinking about that myself at one timea month agoXDD That was sort of how I was with psych. Or it's actually more that certain ( ... )

Yeah, when majoring in East-Asian studies you choose either Japanese, Chinese or Korean culture, and as far as I know you can't pick two ( ... )

XDDD But they let you take Korean, anyway?? How was that possible ( ... )

Well--- I--- IT'S CONFUSING! XDDD You're allowed to take courses of course but I doubt they'd let one register them as a minor subject. I'm probably the last person who should be trying to explain this stuff, rofl. :'D ( ... )

Oh yeah... true. :D (Now, this is why I should take Japanese. XDD But then there are those, who actually want the whole major/minor ( ... )
